The artist is JC Sheitan Tenet and his prosthetic arm is a tattooing machine in itself. Considering that I’m a tattoo junkie myself, getting inked up by Tenet is already on my bucket list. I already want one by a 3D printer, so after that it’s the cyborg’s turn.
The fact that Tenet is able to maintain precision as he’s tattooing his customers just makes the entire thing all the more incredible. If you’re ever in Lyon, France and are looking to get a tattoo, be sure to check this guy out! I know I will.
“French artist JL Gonzal made this for Tattoo artist JC Sheitan Tenet using an existing prosthesis on which he added the metal bits and built the tattoo machine so that it can be set as needed by the tattoo artist.”
The idea of getting a tattoo by someone whose arm is literally a tattoo machine is absolutely mind boggling. As a futurist who grew up reading cyberpunk sci-fi literature, it really is a dream come true in my mind. We’ve already got the biohackers, the drones, the robot rent-a-cops, and not to mention mega corporate conglomerates. So why not include a cyborg tattoo artist as well?
It only comes to show just how far we’ve come from simply reading about “realities” like this in sci-fi magazines and novels to now actually experiencing it before our very eyes. Something like this wasn’t always a possibility. Rather it’s a testament of how far science and technology has gone to achieve something like this. And as we continue moving towards the future, and informational technologies continue to grow at an exponential rate, be prepared for a world that is far stranger than the current one we live in today.
