For architectural student Zack Matthews at Harvard GSD, he sees no reason why people can’t enjoy the nighttime city life while also enjoying nature. Thus came into fruition the greenhouse nightclub Electric Garden.
“The Electric Garden is a greenhouse nightclub. It is a place where nature and artifice collide – a place to get lost in the infinite. It is a place that brings an immersive purity to Brick Lane, a re-generating landscape famous for its cultural life, yet still a fringe suffocating from its past self.”

Thus came the idea of a greenhouse nightclub, which would be built in the city of London. What better way of staying fit and active, all the while attaining a sense of nature’s return, than by partying your ass off inside of a greenhouse?
The Electric Garden continues a canonical lineage among London conservatories by leveraging greenhouse typology. It splices and blurs the natural and artificial as a means of creating a sense of symbiosis, as opposed to intrinsic conflict. While inspired by health goths, one would hope this type of architectural build will become a trend in and of itself. If you’d like to see more images of the Electric Garden, click here.
