This includes high speed trains as well as bus and bikes. The US has a real “one passenger per car” issue and we need to move away from this antiquated idea.
However, if I must I will choose the bus over the subway for these reasons. I like being above ground, I like the old people who ride the bus. They are interesting and they always remind me to be grateful for my youth and health, something we all should be reminded of from time to time.
However, outside of major cities or in suburban sprawl the bus may not be so enjoyable. How can we change this experience? I think it stars with perception. If more people of diverse income and social structures would embrace public transportation we would have a more robust system of bus and train lines. More and more cities are turning to mass transit to cope with growing populations in dense areas as well as the pollution and videos like this only help to move us forward!
What other solutions should we look at to help increase public transportation? More trains to and from airports into cities? Better WiFi access on current public bus and trains?
